Congregation Dor Hadash (Next Generation) was founded in 1983 as San Diego's first and only Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation and is affiliated with the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation (JRF). Philosophically, Reconstructionism can be described as ritually traditional and socially liberal. Reconstructionist congregations are based on the belief that each generation of Jews is charged with the responsibility for envisioning the Judaism of its own time and then creating it.
