50 and Better Together
Isolation can be a relentless enemy to LGBT seniors, but those who find their way to The Center find some powerful allies. In a society that often places emphasis on youth, The Center provides a community of new friends for seniors. The peer group currently ranges from 50 to 90, many of them looking for something new and challenging. They find it here.
Whether it's card parties, game days, writing classes, workshops, Lunch and Learn (with speakers on a wide variety of topics), or the monthly community meals at neighborhood restaurants, there is always something happening in this popular program. Senior Services - 50 and Better Together - strives to create a safe space where those 50 years and "better" will have access to important resources and referrals regarding health care, social services, and community activities. For more information contact the Senior Services coordinator at 619.692.2077 x205 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
