HIV-positive individuals, couples and families are welcome at all Center programs and activities. In addition, The Center has services specifically designed for the HIV/AIDS community.

Accion Positiva Group

This is a Spanish-language group for HIV-positive men offering support, information and help building powerful coping skills. For more information, call 619.692.2077 x116.

Behavioral Health Services & Counseling (English & Spanish)

Counseling services for those living with HIV, their partners and families are available FREE at The Center. Whether you just need some quick help with a specific life challenge or need a little more time to build up your coping skills, services are available to individuals, couples and families. Food Services

The first Tuesday of the month from 9-10:30am, visit The Center’s parking lot for a “one-stop-shop.” Receive emergency fresh food, pre-screen for food stamps and sign up for a range of other services, including employment and medical as well as low-cost utility programs. Hillcrest Youth Center

HYC offers programming for HIV-positive youth and their friends ages 14-18 years old. You’ll find fun, support, education, sexual health information, digital zine, open mic nights and much more. HIV testing is offered at the HYC on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights. For more information, call 619.497.2920 or email

HIV Consumer Empowerment

The Ryan White Treatment Extension Act provides for direct local consumer & HIV community involvement in the local HIV Planning Councils which provide guidance regarding both local service & budget priorities. For information about participation in the local planning process, call 619.293.4711.

HIV and STI Testing

HIV tests are now available at The Center (3909 Centre Street) Monday through Saturday. STI Testing is available at a Mobile Medical Unit in The Center’s parking lot every Monday 3-7pm. HIV Positive Seniors Discussion Group

A group for those 50 and better who are living with HIV. Meets 2nd Thursday of the month, 12 noon-1pm. For more information contact

Living with HIV Counseling and Support Groups

The Center offers a number of Living with HIV groups facilitated by mental health professionals from The Center's Behavioral Health Services. These weekly groups invite discussion on a range of issues from dating, disclosure, dealing with stigma, medical treatments and access to HIV support services. Members learn how to cope with the psychological impact of living with HIV/AIDS over an extended time and ways to ensure a long, healthy life. Las Manzanitas

This is a Spanish-language, open group that provides information and support to those infected/affected by HIV. No need to be HIV+ to participate. Friends and relatives of the LGBT community are welcome to attend the last Wednesday of the month. For more information, call 619.692.2077 x116.

YA+ Discussion Group

YA+ meets the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 6pm. It is a bilingual discussion and support group for young people who are HIV+. For more information, contact Ricardo Gallego at or 619.692.2077 x116.

Meth Relapse Prevention Group

The Center offers a Meth Relapse Prevention group for people with HIV/AIDS who are also in recovery from methamphetamine. The group is facilitated by mental health professionals from the Center’s Behavioral Health Services.  This weekly group works from a harm reduction philosophy.   If you're interested in learning more about this group, please contact the information and referral specialist at 619.692.2077 x208.

Positive Action Series (English & Spanish)

A fun and entertaining 10-week group for HIV-positive men, offering support and help building everyday life skills for living healthy and fully alive with HIV. For more information, call 619.692.2077 x116.

Shades of Color

This empowerment group for Black men who have sex with men meets at The Center every Wednesday at 12 noon. For more information, call 619.692.2077 x116.

Sunburst Youth Housing Program

Sunburst offers housing services for homeless HIV-positive youth, 18-24 yrs old. Homeless? HIV-positive? Need some help finding housing or housing options? Call 619.255.7854 x103.
