Leadership Circles
A Leadership Circle is a diverse network of community members, connected by their deep commitment to the development and strengthening of LGBT Leadership in San Diego County. Leadership Circle members make makes an annual commitment of $1500 or more each year and are invited to quarterly meetings with program staff to discuss ways to evaluate and strengthen current programming and develop new, innovative program ideas for The Center.

Leadership Circles:
Equality Leadership Circle: The Center’s public policy department and marriage equality project are focused upon continuing the struggle for full civil and human rights for LGBT and allied communities. Current initiatives include: repealing the ill conceived Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell military policy, hate crime protections, marriage equality, safe schools legislation and voter registration. The Equality Leadership Circle is committed to designing and implementing programs that will achieve fair treatment and full equality for LGBT citizens and allied community members.
Health & Wellness Leadership Circle: Nurturing mind, body and spirit, The Center’s wellness programs include everything from workshops on yoga, massage and healthy gourmet cooking to counseling services, cancer support groups, prevention case management, intimacy, and safer sex. The Health and Wellness Leadership Circle is committed to creating innovative programs that enhance the health and well-being of the LGBT community in San Diego.
Latino/a Services Leadership Circle: The Center’s Latino Services Center provides linguistically and culturally appropriate resources and services for LGBT and HIV+ Latino/as and their families. The San Diego Center is the first LGBT community center in the nation to expand programming to specifically embrace the changing face of our LGBT and national community. The Latino Services Leadership Circle is committed to empowering and serving the LGBT Latino/a community in San Diego.
Men’s Leadership Circle: The Center’s new men’s project: Changing the Dialogue is focused upon the need to rebuild and sustain the men’s community. Twenty-five years of HIV/AIDS, methamphetamine, and other struggles have created a dialogue too often focused upon disease, disability, and vulnerability, rather than a celebration of the strength, resiliency and talent concentrated in the men’s community. The Men’s Leadership Circle is committed to developing community-wide initiatives that help to recreate community, affirm the strength and expand the vision of a powerful GBT men’s community in San Diego.
Women’s Leadership Circle: The Center’s Women's Resource Center provides a safe space where LBT women and their allies can access important health care and social service resources and referrals. The Women’s Leadership Circle is committed to building a vibrant community of women by strengthening the leadership capacity of LBT women in San Diego County.
Seniors Leadership Circle: The Center’s Senior Services strives to create a safe space for those 50 years and “better,” providing access to important resources for housing, food, transportation counseling, legal services, and referrals regarding healthcare, social services and community activities. The Seniors Leadership Circle is committed to enhancing the quality of care and reducing the heath risks for LGBT seniors.
Youth Services Leadership Circle: The Center’s Youth Services programs (Hillcrest Youth Center and the Youth Housing Project) provide LGBT youth and young adults with counselling services, health and financial education as well as life skills training to enable them to lead successful adult lives. The Youth Services Leadership Circle is committed to sustaining and improving the lives of LGBT youth in San Diego
