We are creating change everywhere across the state, every day. In September 2007…

  • For the second time, the California legislature overwhelmingly passed bill that supports the freedom to marry for all couples.
  • The San Diego City Council passed a resolution to sign a friend-of-the-court (amicus) brief in support of the freedom to marry case before the Supreme Court
  • San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders signed the City Council’s resolution and announced his support that all couples should have the freedom to marry

Let California Ring

The San Diego LGBT Community Center's Marriage Equality and Education project is a partner of the campaign “Let California Ring,” a public education campaign made up of over 45 organizations who share the vision that people with many different backgrounds and beliefs can come together to support fairness, freedom and the principle that all people should have the same chance to realize their hopes and dreams.
