The San Diego LGBT Community Leadership Council
 |
In the Summer of 2003, in response to the feedback of many community organizations and stakeholders, The Center hosted the first meeting of the Community Leadership Council. This group consists of the board and staff members and appointed representatives who lead our more than 40 LGBT and allied community organizations.
The council meets at least monthly to provide a formal vehicle for community organizations to: create a vision and strategize for the future of San Diego’s LGBT community; create stronger collaborations to leverage limited resources and address the needs of our community; and strategize ways to provide leadership development for our community organizations. |
Mission Statement: The mission of the San Diego LGBT Community Leadership Council is to support and enhance the business, political, cultural, and community life of the San Diego LGBT community by providing a stable, effective, and on-going collaborative mechanism through which LGBT community organizations can effectively
- Exchange information,
- Coordinate community activities,
- Collaborate on community projects, and
- Provide coordinated community leadership.
The San Diego LGBT Community Leadership Council meets the first Thursday of each month from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at The Center, 3909 Centre Street. Organizations interested in sending a representative should contact djacobs@thecentersd.org
