Holiday Hours
The Center will be closed Friday, March 31 through Sunday, April 2 in honor of Cesar Chavez Day. Regular hours resume at 9am on Monday, April 3.

Free HIV and Hepatitis C testing is available at The Center Monday-Friday 9am-8pm (last test at 7pm) and Saturday 10am-4pm (last test at 3pm). You can make an appointment or get more information by calling 619.692.2077 x101.

Under 25 and Looking for Resources?
Our new trans youth services navigator, a.t. furuya, is available to help trans youth 24 and younger with accessing resources such as  support groups, housing, surgery, hormones, mentorships, mediations with families and schools, name and gender change and more! Tuesday, March 7, 9am, Community Food Distribution
The San Diego LGBT Community Center hosts a distribution site once a month for the Community Cares Project of the San Diego Food Bank. On the first Tuesday of every month, 9-10:30 am, visit The Center’s parking lot for emergency food. For more information, visit the San Diego Food Bank website.

Tuesday, March 7 & 21, 7pm, Trans Women’s Discussion Group
This discussion group is for transgender women (MTF), those assigned male at birth, now identifying as female, gender non-conforming or questioning their gender, and allies. Topics focus on issues affecting women and transgender people. Join us on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday monthly, from  7-9pm.

Wednesday, March 8, 6:30pm, Guys, Games & Grub! (DATE CHANGE MARCH ONLY)
Join us on the first Wednesday of every month for Guys, Games & Grub with host Ben Cartwright. Meet new friends while enjoying snacks, food and drinks for free! On the first Wednesday of every month, nearly 200 men of all ages (21+) gather at The Center for a night of games, pizza, drinks and socializing. A $5 suggested donation is appreciated at the door to support men’s programming at The Center. Thursday, March 2 & 16, 7:30pm, Non-Binary Gender Identity and Exploration
Anyone who identifies with any part of the non-binary gender spectrum or anyone questioning/exploring their gender identity is welcome to join this discussion group. Facilitators bring topics of discussion while leaving plenty of space for group members to steer the conversation where they would like it to go. This group also serves as a social gathering space for non-binary individuals. The group meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays monthly, from 7:30–8:45pm at The Center. Tuesday, March 14 & 28, 9:30-11:30am, Free Legal Clinic
The Access to Law Initiative, a project of California Western School of Law, holds legal clinics the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 9:30am to 11am at The Center. At these clinics, attorneys will be available for free, 30-minute consultations to help evaluate legal issues.

Tuesday, March 14 & 28, 6:30pm, Prostate Cancer Support Group Serving the Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Communities
This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 6:30pm. Please contact William Shi at prostatecancergbt@aol.com before attending for the first time.

Wednesday, March 8 & 22, 12 noon, Diamonds in the Rough: Etiquette with Miss Pepper
Project TRANS invites you to join Miss Pepper Price every other Wednesday for a fun and informative class on etiquette designed especially for trans women. The group meets from 12 noon-1:30 pm in Latino Services. For more information, contact Connor Maddocks at trans@thecentersd.org

Wednesday, March 8 & 22, 7pm, FTM Support Group
Join the guys from 7-9 pm during our regularly scheduled meetings. Significant others are welcome for the 2nd Wednesday of every month meeting and on the 4th Wednesday of every month meet as a separate group with anyone who is a SOFFA (significant other, friends, family or ally) of a Trans person. This group is for anyone who is a significant other, friend, family member or needs support around someone close to them regarding transgender issues.  For more information, contact Connor Maddocks at trans@thecentersd.org.

Tuesday, March 28, 1pm, Senior Food Bank Program
The Senior Food Bank Program provides food and nutrition education to eligible low-income seniors 60 years or older on the fourth Tuesday of every month.  For more information, visit the San Diego Food Bank website at www.sandiegofoodbank.org or contact LaRue Fields at seniors@thecentersd.org.

Tuesdays, 4:30-7:30, HYC Hours for 10-13 Year Olds
The Hillcrest Youth Center is a youth-only LGBTQ+ space that is open for 10-13 year olds every Tuesday night from 4:30-7:30pm. You'll find computer access, health education, basic financial education, youth leadership training, discussion groups, creative and performing arts programming, amazing social activities and more. In addition, Tuesday nights will include structured activities such as group games, arts and crafts and mini LGBTQ workshops and discussions. For more information, email HYC@thecentersd.org.

Thursdays, 7pm, Trans Veterans and Military Support Group
Meet other Veterans and active duty Trans folks to support and share resources for smoother transitions within the military and VA agencies, great place to share your hopes and struggles. Will meet every Thursday at the Center at 7 pm.  For more information, contact Connor Maddocks at

Este grupo se lleva acabo de 5:30pm a 8pm, es un grupo abierto a familias, amigos y personas que quieran comprender y dar apoyo a trangeneros, en este grupo se dan diferentes temas educativos y tambien las chicas comparten sus experiencias de la vida. Friday/Viernes, 5:30-8pm.

Transgender Coming Out Group

This group supports transgender people in all stages of exploring gender identity. Open to transgender women (MTF), transgender men (FTM), genderqueer/gender non-conforming people, people who are intersex and those questioning their gender identity. SOFFAs (significant others, friends, family, allies) are welcome to attend with their transgender loved ones.

Weekly Trans Action Series
Trans Positive Action is a comprehensive educational course for trans women living with HIV/AIDS who are high risk. Trans Action meets weekly for eight weeks and covers a variety of topics, including living with HIV, healthy relationships, sexual health, self-esteem, normalizing conversation about sex and disclosure. Gender Identity Group @ HYC
A discussion and support group for transgender, gender non-conforming, and trans-questioning youth ages 14-18. The group is also open to youth who are interested in learning more about gender identity.
