Check Out Our Testing Hours!

Free HIV and Hepatitis C testing is available at The Center Monday-Friday 9am-8pm (last test at 7pm) and Saturday 10am-4pm (last test at 3pm). We are now also offering the  Early Test on Fridays ONLY, from 9am to 8pm (last test at 7pm). The Early Test is a specialized viral load test for HIV infection as early as one week after exposure.You can make an appointment or get more information by calling 619.692.2077 x101.

Mondays, 3pm, Mobile Medical Unit at The Center
The Family Health Centers of San Diego Mobile Medical Unit will be located in The Center?s parking lot every Monday from 3-7 pm! Services include basic primary care, immunizations, PEP & PrEP (through Rx), STD screening & treatment, chest/breast cancer screening, family planning, pap smears, pregnancy testing, hormone therapy and sick & well visits. Under 25 and Looking for Resources?
Our new trans youth services navigator, a.t. furuya, is available to help trans youth 24 and younger with accessing resources such as  support groups, housing, surgery, hormones, mentorships, mediations with families and schools, name and gender change and more! Viernes, Oct. 6 & 27, 5:30pm,Grupo de apoyo: Transgenero 2000
Este grupo se lleva acabo de 5:30pm a 8pm, es un grupo abierto a familias, amigos y personas que quieran comprender y dar apoyo a trangeneros, en este grupo se dan diferentes temas educativos y tambien las chicas comparten sus experiencias de la vida. Viernes primero y quarto mensual, 5:30-8pm.

Tuesday, Oct. 3, 9am, Community Food Distribution
The San Diego LGBT Community Center hosts a distribution site once a month for the Community Cares Project of the San Diego Food Bank. On the first Tuesday of every month (unless that falls on a holiday), 9-10:30 am, visit The Center’s parking lot for emergency food. For more information, visit the San Diego Food Bank website.

Wednesday, Oct. 4, 6pm, GGG!
Everyone is welcome to The Center on the first Wednesday evening of each month for GGG! The popular board game and social night, presented by Men @ The Center, includes pizza, snacks, beer, wine, soft drinks, and hundreds of board games to choose from. Participants are welcome to come alone and meet new friends, or come with a group for a fun evening out. The popular Team Trivia game, hosted by John Lockhart, begins at 6:30 pm and everyone is welcome to drop in. Suggested donation of $5 is requested for admission. Thursday, Oct. 5 & 19, 7:30pm, Non-Binary Gender Identity and Exploration
This is a discussion and support group for non-binary, genderqueer, and gender non-conforming individuals. Anyone who identifies with any part of the non-binary gender spectrum or anyone questioning/exploring their gender identity is welcome to join. Group facilitators bring topics of discussion while leaving plenty of space for group members to steer the conversation where they would like it to go. This group also serves as a social gathering space for non-binary individuals, and casual social interaction is integrated with more structured discussion. Saturday, Oct. 7, 6:30pm, Diamond in the Rough's Annual Banquet
Join Lady Pepper in celebrating the strength, power, and beauty of Transgender Women and Femmes in the San Diego community. There will be an opening performance by Cali Couture, followed by awards and dinner. This event is free. Thank you to sponsors San Diego LGBT Community Center and the Imperial Court De San Diego. Tuesday, Oct. 10 & 24, 9:30-11:30am, Free Legal Clinic
The Access to Law Initiative, a project of California Western School of Law, holds legal clinics the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 9:30am to 11am at The Center. At these clinics, attorneys will be available for free, 30-minute consultations to help evaluate legal issues.

Tuesday, Oct. 10 & 24, 6:30pm, Prostate Cancer Support Group Serving the Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Communities
This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 6:30pm. Please contact William Shi at prostatecancergbt@aol.com before attending for the first time.

Wednesday, Oct. 11 & 25, 7pm, FTM Support Group
Join us from 7-9 pm during our regularly scheduled meetings. Significant others are welcome for the 2nd Wednesday of every month meeting and on the 4th Wednesday of every month meet as a separate group with anyone who is a SOFFA (significant other, friends, family or ally) of a Trans person. Wednesday, Oct. 11 & 25, 7pm, Transgender SOFFA Support Group
This group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday monthly and is for anyone who is a significant other, friend, family member or needs support around someone close to them regarding transgender issues. For more information, contact us at trans@thecentersd.org.

Saturday, Oct. 21, 11am, Annual Project Trans BBQ
Join us on October 21 from 11am-3pm for the annual Project Trans BBQ! We will provide hotdogs and hamburgers. Please bring a potluck item to share, or donate plates, napkins, cups, drinks (no one will be turned away for not bringing anything). Bring games to play, blankets, lawn chairs and pop tents. Everyone is welcome. The BBQ will be in Balboa park - enter at Upas Street and we will be on the left hand side, just past the first curve, across from the playground. Look for the Trans flag! Tuesday, Oct. 24, 1pm, Senior Food Bank Program
The Senior Food Bank Program provides food and nutrition education to eligible low-income seniors 60 years or older on the fourth Tuesday of every month.  For more information, visit the San Diego Food Bank website at www.sandiegofoodbank.org or contact LaRue Fields at seniors@thecentersd.org.

Tuesdays, 4:30-7:30, HYC Hours for 10-13 Year Olds
The Hillcrest Youth Center is a youth-only LGBTQ+ space that is open for 10-13 year olds every Tuesday night from 4:30-7:30pm. You'll find computer access, health education, basic financial education, youth leadership training, discussion groups, creative and performing arts programming, amazing social activities and more. In addition, Tuesday nights will include structured activities such as group games, arts and crafts and mini LGBTQ workshops and discussions. For more information, email HYC@thecentersd.org.

Thursdays, ThursTAYs Transitional Age LBGTQIA Youth @ HYC
This group is a space to hang out with other trans and queer young adults 18-24. Throughout the year Workshops on job applications, cover letters, cooking, financial planning, relationships, PrEP/sexual health, college, career goals, life organizing skills etc will be offered. Thursdays, 7pm, Trans Veterans and Military Support Group
Meet other Veterans and active duty Trans folks to support and share resources for smoother transitions within the military and VA agencies, great place to share your hopes and struggles. Will meet every Thursday at the Center at 7 pm.  For more information, contact us at

Saturdays, 5:15pm, Transgender Discussion Group
This is a discussion and support group for transgender and trans-questioning folks ages 18 and up. Join us to neet lots of different members of the Trans and Gender Non-binary community, discuss ideas and share resources. The group meets every Saturday except when The Center is closed for holidays or LGBT events. For more information, contact us

Transgender Coming Out Group
This group supports transgender people in all stages of exploring gender identity. Open to transgender women (MTF), transgender men (FTM), genderqueer/gender non-conforming people, people who are intersex and those questioning their gender identity. SOFFAs (significant others, friends, family, allies) are welcome to attend with their transgender loved ones.

San Diego FTM Support Group
Support group for those assigned female at birth, now identifying as male or questioning their gender.
2nd and 4th Wednesday monthly, 7-9pm

Trans Significant Others Discussion Group
A group for significant others, friends, family and allies of transgender people. Group meets on the 4th Wednesday monthly, 7-9pm.

Transgender Discussion Group
A discussion and support group for transgender and trans-questioning folks ages 18 and up.

Weekly Trans Action Series
Trans Positive Action is a comprehensive educational course for trans women living with HIV/AIDS who are high risk. Trans Action meets weekly for eight weeks and covers a variety of topics, including living with HIV, healthy relationships, sexual health, self-esteem, normalizing conversation about sex and disclosure. Gender Identity Group @ HYC
A discussion and support group for transgender, gender non-conforming, and trans-questioning youth ages 14-18. The group is also open to youth who are interested in learning more about gender identity.
